I've seen how easy it is to deploy simple web applications using JDeveloper. I look forward to using my laptop to put up some pages that will show my employer just what's easily possible (and, yes, I know that the simple apps just scratch the surface).
The next session introduced Java to PL/SQL developers. I can't say I learned much that was new, but it was a great review, well-paced, and a good example of a way to communicate Java to an old PL/SQL dinosaur like me.
My third session was on Google Gadgets. I think such a gadget could be a great way to let users know that there's a new claim paid or some other recent update that's of interest to them.
The fourth session was really fun -- learning about how to become a published technical writer. I've always like writing and presenting, so it was a very informative introduction on how to go about getting a "first book."
Even lunch was great. There I learned the secrets to changing a traffic ticket in Denver into a warning... (And, yes, I'm saving that information for my first book. :-)
So far the conference has been excellent...
